ANATOMY OF FIREPLACE FLUES

Here at All Points Chimney, Stoves & Fireplaces we sweep your chimney flue and fireplace differently.  

Masonry fireplace flues must be swept from the bottom so the throat of the chimney can be swept removing the build up of creosote.  The damper must also be removed so we can access the smoke shelf and clear off all the debris that has accumulated on it.  

Pre-Fabricated or Zero Clearance fireplace flues are swept from the bottom and does not require the damper to be removed.
